Concurso para técnico de enfermagem do SUS: Qual o salário e atribuições?

SUS nursing technician competition: What is the salary and duties?

Taking a SUS nursing technician exam is a great opportunity to achieve financial and professional stability for those who sought technical training. This option became even better after the establishment of the Nursing Minimum Wage, since this measure also reached technical level professionals. See everything about the exams below.

What does a nursing technician do?

A hospital or clinic needs a multidisciplinary team capable of meeting all of its patients' needs. For this reason, the public sector usually offers competitions not only for doctors or nurses in health competitions, but there are also many vacancies for nursing technicians.

These professionals are essential for effective medical treatment, since they will perform the most practical tasks of the treatment. This is because trained nurses are generally assigned more administrative and management tasks. On the other hand, technicians are the ones who perform most of the routine procedures.

For example, technical professionals are responsible for collecting biological material for tests, as well as administering the patient's medications and hospital equipment. In addition, it is common for technicians to take care of pre- and post-operative processes.

Finally, it is also worth mentioning that the professional will always need to be alert to more complex situations, such as providing first aid and cleaning and dressing wounds.

How much does a nursing technician earn?

For a long time, the salary for nursing technicians varied greatly depending on the location and also the hospital. In fact, the difference between salaries in the private and public sectors was also considerable. However, through the National Nursing Salary Floor, this reality is starting to change.

Through this measure, it was established that a professional with a 44-hour workweek at a technical level has a salary of R$3,325. Unfortunately, not all places pay this salary to professionals, but in these cases, it is possible to file a complaint so that due payment is made.

Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that this amount may increase in cases of specialization and career progression in both the public and private sectors. Therefore, it is possible to find professionals at the technical level who receive up to R$5,000 for the same 44-hour workday.

What to study for the SUS Nursing Technician exam

Just like any other public office, nursing technicians must pass a test that will include both general knowledge and specific questions about the area. Although there are several exams throughout Brazil, we can say that there is a uniformity in this regard, since the content and questions are practically the same.

General knowledge questions

In the general knowledge area, the most common topics are Portuguese and mathematics, both subjects at the basic level. For example, in languages, most of the questions are related to text interpretation, but there are also questions related to graphic accentuation, punctuation, Portuguese syntax and grammar in general.

In mathematics, statistical questions such as mean, mode and median, as well as percentages, are also very common. There is even a possibility that the test will ask for calculations of medicines.

Public Health Policies

The test will also require you to have basic knowledge of health legislation, starting with what the Federal Constitution predefined in articles 196 to 200. In addition, Laws 8080/90 and 80142/90 are also very common. Ordinances related to nursing are also included.

Specific Nursing Contents

Finally, we cannot fail to mention the issues that are more specific to the training and performance of nursing technicians. Technical procedures that are the responsibility of technicians may be included, as well as issues related to pharmacology, parasitology, microbiology, biosafety and anatomy.

Preparing for the exam can make all the difference when it comes to answering the questions. Therefore, set aside some time to study, always keeping in mind that the civil service exam can be a life-changing option.
