USP
Located in Sé, in the center of São Paulo, the law school of the University of São Paulo is the most traditional in the country. The Law Courses, created in 1827, were the pillar for the structuring of the Brazilian Democratic State of Law.
It was the first institution to join the University of São Paulo, when it was created in 1934.
The competition for admission to the institution's law course was around 20 for each place.
The college is among the best, considering mainly the grades obtained by college graduates in specific tests in the area.
An interesting fact about the course is that the newspaper O Estado de São Paulo originated from a newspaper that was created by law students at USP in the 1860s.
UFMG
Also considered one of the best in Brazil, the Federal Law School of Minas Gerais obtained one of the best grades among teachers and students.
Like USP, it was founded in 1892, even before the creation of the University, and was incorporated later. It currently operates in the center of Belo Horizonte, the state capital.
Currently, the course operates in conjunction with the state science course and, according to the teachers, both have the mission of “training jurists and statesmen of the School”.
