São Paulo celebrated its birthday on January 25th and, in addition, this time of year is already well known for many shows, parties, summer rehearsals and the long-awaited carnival. The Anhangabaú Valley is an area of ​​the city located in the center, which is the protagonist of countless celebrations and cultural moments.

There are so many events that it can sometimes be a little difficult to keep up with the region's schedule, but, in addition to hosting wonderful artists, the area between Praça da Bandeira and Avenida São João has also been the chosen location for demonstrations, rallies and even popular shows.

Events began to take place at the beginning of the year and January provided an intense schedule for the region, which was celebrating the city's anniversary. Read the text and find out more.

January had many events

There was the organization of cycling tours, free shows, on a large stage that was set up for the event in the city center , and as there is no birthday without cake, the city's birthday cake was also cut at the Municipal Market, also in the Center.

Now in 2023, the street carnival as we know and love it will happen again after the Corona Virus pandemic, which is leaving the public excited and merchants and organizers with great expectations for this year.

Schedule for the coming months

Following tradition, the festivities will take place during the month of January, and, in the planned schedule, we can already see that there will be the carnival block of singer Leo Santana, Faz o L, on February 19th.

In addition to the shows, the region has a weekly program for the month of February, full of outdoor activities, to make your week different and encourage culture, well-being and physical exercise.

Starting on Monday, you can take Isometric classes, skateboarding tricks for beginners, Pilates, fitness classes, self-defense and Muay Thai.

On Tuesdays, there will be Beat Box classes, professional skateboarding, free DJing, as well as an exhibition of graffiti from the valley itself and a chat with artists.

On Wednesday, you can take a skate class for women only, video dance, vogue, heels dance, a pop meeting for DJing and even enjoy the anhangá cinema.

On Thursdays, you can take part in passinho, raba dance, introduction to circus, ballroom dancing, forró classes, then watch a circus performance and enjoy a forró show.

And to end the week, on Friday you can take part in the valley's playlist, roller skating circuit, skateboarding with music, percussion, capoeira circle, and end the night with samba rock.

The schedule doesn't stop on the weekends either. On Saturdays, the public can enjoy a theater workshop, games table, children's cinema, live karaoke, samba, playlists from the valley and Ilú Obá de Min. On Sundays, there is a roller skating circuit, a fitness dance class, an introduction to the circus, an open skate park, chess and Ilú Obá de Min.

In March, the valley will host an international band for a concert. Coldplay will be in the region on March 18th and tickets are already sold out. The band performed at Rock in Rio 2022 and will now return to the country for more shows in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba.
